Refund Policy

This policy explains when deposits, subscriptions, buyer premiums, and other Deal Drop Direct charges may be refunded, applied, released, or forfeited.

1. $200 bid deposit

The deposit confirms bidding eligibility and performance. Depending on the payment method, a refund or authorization release may take several business days to appear and timing is controlled partly by the financial institution.

  • Refunded or released when the dealer does not create a purchase obligation, when Deal Drop Direct cancels the relevant auction without dealer default, or after the dealer timely completes payment and pickup and the deposit is not applied to the balance.
  • Applied to the balance when the checkout or win notice expressly shows the deposit as a credit.
  • Forfeited, to the extent permitted by law, when the dealer wins or uses Buy Now and then fails to pay, fails to provide required documents, fails to collect the vehicle, uses fraudulent information, engages in prohibited bidding, files an abusive chargeback, or otherwise materially breaches the Terms.
  • A forfeiture does not limit responsibility for additional losses, fees, storage, transport, resale deficiency, or collection costs.

2. Membership cancellations and pro-rated refunds

Canceling renewal normally preserves access through the end of the paid monthly or yearly term and does not automatically create a refund. A user should cancel a trial before the end of day 14 to avoid the first paid charge.

  • A pro-rated refund may be approved for duplicate billing, a verified billing error, or an exceptional service failure where required by law or approved by Deal Drop Direct after review.
  • Used membership periods, earned volume benefits, completed transactions, buyer premiums, and other transaction charges are not refundable as part of a membership cancellation.
  • Approved refunds are calculated from the effective cancellation date and may deduct discounts, credits, chargebacks, unpaid amounts, or benefits already consumed.
  • Failure to use the service, loss of dealer eligibility caused by the user, or forgetting to cancel generally does not require a refund, subject to applicable law.

3. Downgrade protection

An eligible yearly member may convert to a protected monthly subscription at $415.83 per month. Activation does not guarantee a refund of the unused yearly term. If a pro-rated yearly refund is approved, the value of used months and benefits may be recalculated at the applicable rate. The protected rate can end after cancellation, payment failure, abuse, or loss of eligibility and may not be reinstated.

4. Buyer’s premium and vehicle payments

The buyer’s premium is non-refundable after a vehicle purchase is completed because it compensates for marketplace and transaction services. Vehicle-price refunds are governed by the seller’s obligations, title documents, applicable law, and any written resolution. AS-IS condition complaints, post-sale repairs, transport costs, or market-value changes do not by themselves create a refund right. A documented platform billing error or duplicate charge will be corrected.

5. Chargebacks

Contact Deal Drop Direct before initiating a chargeback so the issue can be investigated. Filing a false, misleading, or premature chargeback may result in account suspension, deposit forfeiture, collection activity, and recovery of processor or legal costs. A chargeback does not cancel a valid auction purchase, membership obligation, or amount due. We may provide bid, login, verification, contract, delivery, and communication records to the payment processor and financial institution.

6. Dispute and refund review

Submit a written request promptly after discovering the issue. Deal Drop Direct may request identity verification, auction or payment identifiers, invoices, photographs, title records, communications, and other evidence. We aim to acknowledge requests within five business days and will communicate the decision after a reasonable investigation. Complex vehicle, processor, fraud, or title matters may take longer. Unresolved disputes follow the dispute-resolution section of the Terms of Service.

7. How to request a refund

Use the Contact page while signed in when possible. Include your account email, dealership name, auction ID or VIN if relevant, payment date, amount, reason, requested resolution, and supporting documents. Never include a password or full payment-card number. Approved refunds return to the original payment method unless law or processor rules require another method. Processing times are estimates and not guarantees.
